Indonesian cinema is getting another horror movie set on a train, something we haven't seen much since "Kereta Hantu Manggarai." Usually, horror films focus on things like devil worship or revenge, but this time it's different.

In 2024, director Raam Punjabi shakes things up with "Kereta Berdarah." The story starts with Purnama (Hana Malasan) taking her sister, Kembang (Zara Leola), to a nature resort for a holiday, celebrating Purnama's recovery from cancer. They travel on the Sangkara Train, known for its trips to this resort.

At first, their train journey seems normal. But everything changes when they go through a tunnel. Suddenly, train carriages start vanishing mysteriously. And that's not all – some passengers transform into weird creatures, causing chaos and fear among the others.

Billed as the top action horror movie of early 2024, Pemukiman Setan is a must-see for horror enthusiasts looking for something new and exciting. This film is a creation of Charles Gozali and Gea Rexy, the duo behind the hit film "Qodrat," ensuring a solid and gripping story.

The story centers around Alin, a girl who, along with her three close friends, is driven to steal in order to settle her late father's debts. Alin, Ghani, Fitrah, and Zia target an old house rumored to hold valuable antiques for their heist.

Their plan nearly succeeds, but things take a turn when Ghani tries to rescue a seemingly helpless girl trapped in the house. This act of kindness sparks a wave of terror for the group, as they discover the girl is actually a powerful shaman.

While shamanism is a familiar theme in local horror movies, "Pemukiman Setan" stands out by exploring the deep-rooted belief in the connection between ancestors and descendants, a concept still held dear by many Indonesians.
